Rostelecom to hold 11.5 bln rbl tender to buy tablets for census

MOSCOW, Oct 3 (PRIME) -- Russian state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom will hold a tender to buy tablets running on local operating system for the 2020 census with the starting and maximum price of the contract at 11.52 billion rubles, according to documents seen by PRIME on Thursday on the state purchases portal.

Rostelecom intends to buy about 360,000 gadgets with the delivery to be done no later than July 2020. It is indicated that 10 tablets more should be delivered by May 2020. A device is valued at 32,000 rubles.

All the tablets will work on operating system Avrora, developed by Rostelecom.

Applications are being accepted till October 10 and results will be announced on December 5.

The state operator will choose two winners “to safeguard the project against various risks” as two participants will be interchangeable, a Rostelecom spokesperson said.
